The search giant Google added 'verification badges' feature to its new social networking site Google Plus. With this new features G+ users can make sure the person they are adding to the Circles.
Initially, the Googe+ verification badges will be rolled out for public figures, celebrities, and people who have been added to a large number of Circles. Google said that they are working on the feature and verification badges will be soon available to all G+ users.
"Many celebrities and public figures are joining Google+, and if you’re like me, you want to be sure the person you’re adding to a circle is really who they claim to be. Today, I’m happy to announce that we’re starting to roll out verification badges on profiles," Google official Wen-Ai Yu said in a post.
The Google Plus verification badges will appear next to users' profile name. Users can see a 'tick mark' and by hovering the mouse on the mark, it shows 'verified name'.
The microblogging site Twitter launched this service earlier and now Google+ adapted this to attract more celebrities and public figures. Earlier, some reports revealed that Google was planning to attract Hollywood stars and their fans to G+ by creating verified account system.

With verification badges, celebrities can easily overcome the information and posts out through fake accounts and to stay connected with their friends. Similarly, fans can trust the accounts they are following.
Meanwhile, recently Google+ officials said that they will delete G+ accounts with fake names. If a person is not using his/her real name, the profile will be removed after four days given to clean up the act. The California-based internet tycoon said it aims to make "sharing on the web more like sharing in real life."
