The first one is about the unrest in Egypt and the second is about actor Charlie Sheen's comment after he was sacked from a hit US comedy.
In 2011, Sheen made the headlines for a series of public rant. Her comment, "My fangs are dripping tiger blood," culminated with the comment to online celebrity gossip site RadarOnline.
According to BBC reports, Sheen was followed by around one million followers in the first 24 hours of his sacking. Sheen used the site to comment after he fought with the producer of the "Two And A Half Men" show. Users mostly tweet about actors, countries and news topics.
Former Egypt President Hosni Mubarak's resignation hold the top position in the news list which was followed by the US special forces' raid on Osama Bin Laden's hideout in Pakistan. Japanese earthquake holds the third position.
"More than anything, these trends demonstrate how Twitter connects people with common interests. Instead of watching the news at home alone, we watched them together on Twitter," Twitter claimed in its official blog.
