Perplexus Maze Gamealso known as Perplexus Original comes from PlaSmart and is the first game in the Perplexus series. The other two in this series are Perplexus Rookie and Perplexus Epic.
Perplexus Maze Game is a 3D puzzle game and is considered to the second toughest game in the Perplexus series after Perplexus Epic.
Similar to any other Perplexus game, in Perplexus Maze Game, players have to maneuver a steel ball through different colored pathways having obstacles to reach its goal in a transparent sphere.
Perplexus Original gives a 3-dimensional experience which other flat-surfaced or board puzzle games lack.
Perplexus Maze Game helps to improve Cognitive and fine motor skills in children as well as help to improve concentration in children.

Perplexus Maze Game explained in detail
A small steel ball rolls on these pathways. The player’s aim is to maneuver this steel ball through the various obstacles to its final destination.
To start playing with Perplexus Maze Game, children have to roll the ball to its starting position. There are 3 starting positions, numbered 1, 2 and 3. It is recommended to start from position 1.
The children have to then flip, twist, turn and spin the Perplexus sphere to maneuver the ball on the numbered pathways. If the steel ball falls off the pathways, children have to start from the beginning.
All of these activities of turning, twisting, spinning and flipping of the Perplexus sphere and the efforts to keep the ball rolling on the pathways helps to develop:
- Concentration,
- Cognitive reasoning and
- Fine Motor skills
Level 1: Barriers 1 to 26
This is the simplest of the 3 levels. This is the level you might find your child playing the maximum number of times.
This level helps to improve fine motor skills and auditory memory.
Children who are good at passing the barriers 1 to 26 develop auditory skills which helps them to tell where the steel ball of the other players is along the pathways just by the sound of the ball moving through the Perplexus sphere.
Level 2: Barriers 27 to 61
This level of Perplexus Maze Game is a bit difficult than the first one.
There are number of tricky barriers in this level like number 30, 41, 43 and 58. This level makes the child think of various ways to get past the barriers.
The emphasis in this level is on solving the puzzles of getting past the barriers and being very subtle in maneuvering the ball.
Level 3: Barriers 62 to 100
Level 3 of Perplexus Maze Game is the toughest of the 3 levels and also has the maximum number of barriers than the other 2 levels.
In this level also there any many tricky barriers and children find their steel ball falling from the pathways much more than the other 2 levels.
However once the children pass through all the barriers and reach the destination, there is a sense of exhilaration.
Children and even you too will soon realize that even if you have been successful in taking the steel ball to the final destination once, it is still equally challenging to the take the ball to the destination a second time.
Perplexus Maze Game is one of the games which are easy to learn but hard to master.
Children can play the Perplexus Original individually or in a group. They can note the timings of each player and then try to beat each other’s timings.

One of the disliked things about Perplexus Original is that the numbers on the pathways are hard to read. But once you have passed the steel ball through the pathways it becomes easier to remember the pathways the second time round.
Perplexus Maze Game has small parts which can become choking hazards for young children. So it is advisable not to give the Perplexus sphere in hands of children younger than 3 years.
