Facebook Forms Political action committee (PAC) for the employees


World's most popular social networking site Facebook on Tuesday said that it is forming a political action committee (PAC) for the employees of social network to make financial contribution to political party candidates.

Meanwhile, Facebook has filed a formal paperwork to constitute a PACs with the Federal Election committee.

In US many corporates have established its PACs which allow to contribute USD 5,000 to a candidate per election and up to USD 15,000 annually to a national party committee.

"FB PAC will give our employees a way to make their voice heard in the political process by supporting candidates who share our goals of promoting the value of innovation to our economy while giving people the power to share and make the world more open and connected," said Facebook spokesman .

Facebook has more than 800 million active users across the world and currently it has expanded its network in Washington by hiring high-profile people to its organization.

Recently, Joe Lockhart, former US president Bill Clinton's spokesman, was named vice president of global communications at the social network. They has also named US President Barak Obama in a special assistant for legislative affairs for Facebook.
