Angry Birds might be Rovio's most
successful brand to date but it looks like the smartphone game is
undergoing a change both in characters and design
Rovio has announced Angry Birds Stella, a new game based on the hugely successful Angry Birds app that was originally launched for iPhone and Android.
The new game looks to centre around a new character called
'Stella' and will be about her and her friends overcoming odds to save
the world within which they're placed.
Judging by the reveal poster it looks like Stella will also
mark a major design shift for Rovio moving more towards hand-drawn
animations similar to those seen on Ubisoft's new Rayman series.
According to Rovio this will be the next major brand
identity for Angry Birds which, since its initial launch, has been moved
to space and been launched as a racing game.
Stella will launch on multiple devices around
September/November and will include apps, books, toys and animations
highlighting the big ambitions that Rovio has for its most successful
franchise.
