Why is there a hole in a tablet? If you see the latest patent filings
along with the images from Samsung regarding its new tablet design, you
might have the same question arising in your mind. This could be one of
the weirdest tablet design ever, in terms of breaking the plain surface
of the tablet. But if you look at the recent past, you can possibly say
that Samsung is actually performing a number of experiments on its
tablet design. Just last month, we saw the design of a Samsung tablet
with slightly curved margins.
However,
when it comes to the latest patent approval that Samsung has received,
it's just a gallery of images devoid of any information and thus one can
hardly say anything about it. The thing which is in question here is
not even the tablet but the hole located at the bottom-right corner.
Since this one will be the first of its kind, even if we guess, we might
not be able to make it guess appropriately as to what it could possibly
be.
The
hole that is bothering every tech writers and curious fans is not
something so easy to guess as well. The new Samsung design patent to
surface in fact reveals a tablet with a finger-sized hole in one corner.
And even if this is the hole which makes the users hold the tablet like
the painter's color palette, it is not believable as it is too small
altogether.
One
report guesses it to be a hole to hook a karabiner. But could a tablet
be rugged to that extent that you can use it while mountaineering? Don't
think so. While this hole will surely become a huge mystery closely
protected by Samsung.
Other than that, the images show that there
is a camera at the back, speakers on the sides and the provision for a
stylus on one of the sides. Seeing this one can expect the tablet to be
launched in the Galaxy Note series.
